Mysore Yoga Traditions Presents

The History of Mysore Yoga Parampara

September 18th through October 16th 2025

Join Andrew Eppler and friends for a four-week, scholar-guided introduction to the culture that shaped modern Ashtanga Yoga. Together we’ll trace how practice developed in Mysore and traveled worldwide, listening directly to elders, Sanskrit scholars, and spiritual leaders who have served this lineage for generations. You’ll hear from figures connected to Mysore’s institutions—such as leadership from Maharaja’s Sanskrit College—and from members of the Mysore royal family, gaining a clear view of the community that sustains a living tradition.

What you’ll explore
• How paramparā functions in practice: teachers, scholars, institutions, and community
• The historical arc of Ashtanga in Mysore and its global spread
• Key sources and artifacts, including the Sri Tattvanidhi and related materials
• How philosophical foundations inform daily practice and teaching today

What’s included
• A complimentary copy of the Mysore Yoga Traditions film (yours to keep)
• Special, previously unreleased footage featuring focused history lessons
• Weekly live sessions with Q&A, plus curated readings and guided reflections
• A respectful, evidence-based learning environment suitable for practitioners and teachers alike

This course is designed to be clear, balanced, and genuinely informative—offering context that deepens practice without polemics. If you’re ready to understand where this tradition comes from and how it continues to grow, you’re in the right place.

What you’ll get

• Respectful clarity around what is ancient, what is modern, and how these strands meet in real practice

How it works
